The problem is that the family is running out of food after spending many years in the compound.

The details are that the cattle that they had all died, that means that they lost a major source of food.

The event is that Eli figures out the code to the compound door.

This impacts the story because the family might be able to get out of the compound.

The solution is carried out by Eli trying to get Lucus and the rest of their family out of the compond.( Lucus is a copy of a human. He likes Eli a lot. He has lived his whole life in the compound.)

What is different is that the dad has come to kill Lucas to stop Eli from opening the door.

How was the problem handled?
The problem was handeld by Eli knocking out his dad and having Lucas squeeze through the door.

Everybody is happy at the end of the story. They are happy because Eli got them out of the compound.
The only person that is not happy at the end of the story is Phil, he is the dad's assistant. He is not happy because he thinks the dad got blown up in the compound.
